Forced Optimism

It hurts to think about getting out of bed
but they will benefit from my dress rehearsal
so i get up and out of my comfortable space
vomit in the toilet feel the cold tile
floor and all of it's dirt and hair on my palms
as i inhale the fumes of the bleach that
drips from the puck that hangs inside
the tank over my head

Wretching the morning's nasal drip mucus phlegm buildup
into this dirty city's bowels makes the rest of my day
the best part every day
